Fall Is In The Air

Happy Friday Everyone......I can't wait for Fall to come to Arizona. This weeks challenge was to create an elegant fall themed project..I had to be kind of creative with my stamp choice as my stamps are MIA so with that being said I used a couple stamps that you wouldn't  think are Fallish but hey it worked for me. I took a standard cream colored tag and used I-987 18th Century Proclamation and D-436 Imagine from The Rubber Cafe. Stamped the entire tag with I-987 and then blended my Donna Salazar inks to create a rich and creamy aged look.

I cut and distressed a few creative scraps from Crafty Secrets, adhered them to my tag with Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry and added a Maxi Mocha Swirl from Want2Scrap™, I also distressed then edges of the tag too, I admit I love to distress everything, not that you could tell.

I stamped Imagine on a new tag from Spellbinders™ S5-073 Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents, the leaves from this collection where die cut out of  F-012 Precious Metal Foil, Thank you for stopping by The Rubber Cafe's blog today, I hope you enjoyed my creativity today and look for some wonderful Fall stamps right here at The Rubber Cafe. Nestabling™ Week with Scrap-Mart and Want2Scrap™

Hello and thank you for joining us for our very first Nestabling week!  Designers from both Scrap-Mart.com and Want2Scrap have teamed up to bring you a week long mini blog hop full of beautiful projects featuring Nestabling by Want2Scrap.  If you are just joining us, hop on over to the Scrap-Mart Blog and start there.  Before we get started with the projects, we’d like to send a special thanks to Want2Scrap for their generous donation of Nestabling for our designers to work with.

What a fun time this is going to be, week long mini blog hop involving Nestabling™? How could you not stop by each blog to see what they have created with this AMAZING Nestabling™!!! I must be in a holiday mood but in July? Go figure!!  I created this vintage Christmas Card address book using a lined journal I found on the Dollar Spot at Target, what a great gift idea and cheap too! I took pattern paper from My Minds Eye and covered the front and back, inside and out of the journal. Inked all the edges with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk Using my Grand Calibur™ from Spellbinders™, I die cut S5-019 Labels Eight out of pattern paper, sanded the edges adhered one to the center of the journal cover and the other one I cut in half. I took the Nestabling™ Labels Nine Silver Rhinestone, cut it half and placed it on the the Labels Eight halves. I cut a ribbon slits on both halves and attached burgundy silk ribbon from Creative Impressions.
Do you see how easy it is to use the NESTABLING without a die cut? I tied a bow out of the silk ribbon
and set it aside for later. I die cut one piece from brown card stock, one pieces from pattern paper, making
a from from the pattern piece and the center piece from a Crafty Secrets Christmas Scrap all using S4-233
Labels Nine. I placed Nestabling™ Labels Nine Silver Rhinestone on the brown die cut and the pattern
paper piece and for the center I used the Nestabling™ Labels Nine Silver Rhinestone as a frame around the
Vintage Santa.
I added some paper flowers and die cut two leaves from the S4-328 Foliage die template, inked the edges
and adhered the leaves under the paper flowers using Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry.
I don't now about you but I love flourishes so I had to add some Swirls, Finesse Black Rhinestones from
Want2Scrap™ an to top off he cover of my Vintage Christmas Card address book I added a decorative
nob and to make the center pop, I added four 72 Count Black Rhinestones from Want2Scrap™.
I added letter tabs to the lined paper inside this Christmas Card address book using the same pattern paper
on the front. For the inside of the address book  I cut a picture of Santa from the pattern paper and added
the 72 Count Black Rhinestones around the inner edge of the cut out. I added a little sentiment from one of
my favorite Christmas Stories "Twas The Night" you know the rest.
Thank you for stopping by my blog on the very first day of this amazing Mini Blog Hop featuring you got
it!!!!! NESTABLING! See below for the remaining days and blogs to stop by, you won't want to miss all the
great creativity using this amazing product. REMEMBER......you don't have to have a DIE CUT to create
beautiful project with NESTABLING. Crafty Smiles......Terre

Simply Sunday...Curtain Call Style

Wow can you believe that this month is already half over...where is this year going? Today I have a creative card to share with you using several of my favorites.

For my pattern paper choice I used Graphic 45 Curtain Call, I covered my card base and distressed a 4 x 4 square of the pattern paper, matted t on a piece of black card stock from Worldwin.

I stamped the Fleur De Lis stamp from PSA Essentials Frenchie stamp set, then using my Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur™, I die cut the stamped image using S4-116 Standard Circles Small, while I was at it I also die cut at the same time the S5-042 Fleur De Lis Accent border out of black card stock. I had the perfect bling to match my card, the Fleur De Lis Silver and Black Rhinestone Bling from Want2Scrap™.
Trimming the perfect creative scrap from Crafty Secrets just went perfect with this card, attaching each piece of  my creativity with Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Glue, added a little black silk bow using Creative Impressions silk ribbon then on to inking the edges of my finished card with Rangers Black Distressing ink. There you go one quick and simple card with several layers to look at.

If you are new to Simply Sunday just follow the link on my side bar and you can read what Simply Sunday is all about. In the meantime, make sure to check out my other two friends creative projects for Simple Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty day.  Terre

Flourishes & Spellbinders Blog Hop

We don’t need to tell you that tags and labels are two of the trendiest items to hit the card making market in a long time! And, to help you add style and pizazz to your creations, Flourishes has teamed up with Spellbinders Paper Arts to make sure you have the perfect set of stamps to match a darling set of tag style dies. Wonderfully whimsical and reminiscent of Grandma’s calico prints, Flourishes “charming” set offers three labels that coordinate perfectly with Spellbinders Grommet Tags (S4-322). Designed by Becky Fleck, you'll also find 6 beautiful sentiments and 4 accent stamps to dress up your labels! Pair that with Flourishes Country Charm Borders and you have the perfect set to make darling note cards in minutes. Flourishes coordinating Country Charm Borders set features five border strips that match the labels set to a tee. What fun!

Flourishes knew this set was a match made in heaven with Spellbinder's Grommet Tags, don't you agree?

I created a sewing journal using corrugated cardboard, recycled none the less. I spritzed my cardboard using an amazing product directly from the UK called Cosmic Shimmer Mist, the colors I used where Bronze Blush and Peacock Green and they are so yummy. I stamped the Country Charms Border on white card stock using Ranger Black Distress ink and used the Cosmic Shimmer Mist and Copic Markers to create a ruffle border on my journal and tag.

I used the button border from the Country Charm Borders and stamped them and cut them out in threes, I sewed the centers on some and added Glossy Accents to the others to give them a little more dimension.

I used several of the vintage scraps from Crafty Secrets and Graphic 45 Le Romantique pattern paper, using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur, I die cut and embossed the S4-314 Lacey Ovals. I used the Want2Scrap Lacey Ovals Nestabling to create a frame around my vintage picture.

I stamped the Country Charms Labels using my black ink and then die cut the stamped image out with the S4-322 Grommet Tags from Spellbinders and added a couple of bronze brads from Creative Impressions. Added a few stamped accents from the Country Charms Labels in the corners.
For my tag I used the same stamped border and machine stitched the custom colored, stamped border on both my tag and my vintage scrap...it really looks pretty.

I added a few crystal and earl stick pins and tied them with crinkle ribbon and vintage lace. I adhered all of my pieces down using Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 Glue.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and I apologize in getting this posted late but I was at the mercy of BLOGGER since yesterday. Make sure to check out the rest of the amazing creations in this blog hop, both design teams are joining forces for a fun-filled show and tell blog hop! Make sure to hop on over and see....

May's Designer Crafts Blog Hop

Can you believe it is already May 2nd, where oh where has this year gone? For today's Blog Hop we had the choice of creating something special that takes place in May, I chose to create this Mother's Day wall hanging (sorry Mom the entire blog world is seeing your present before you get it, love you) as my special project. I started by using the wonderful postcard kits from Crafty Secrets, it was just perfect for what I wanted to create. I trimmed the paper and adhered it to the chipboard piece using Zip Dry by Beacon Adhesives. Sanded and inked the edges and added Glitter Glue by Cosmic Shimmer, a UK based product....love it, to my roses to add just a little shimmer and depth to the wall hanging. To make my wall hanging a little more vintage because that's what my mom loves I added some vintage trim with White Pearls from Want2Scrap.
I took some seem binding that I had sprayed with Glimmer Mist and dried with my heat tool to create custom crinkle ribbon, just the perfect color for my wall hanging. I stamped that back of the wall hanging to make it look like a vintage postcard, addressed it to my mother and air brushed with a soft pink using my Copic Markers, added a little chip board postage stamp to top it off.

On the front of the wall hanging I added 2 crystal stick pins from Maya Roads and 2 pearl top pins that I just bought at a local store. Thank you for stopping by my blog today and if you click the Designer Crafts forward or backward button on my sidebar you can go directly to the next person blog.

PS. Mom, I hope you like your Vintage Wall hanging because I made it with lots of Love!!! Happy Mother's Day, I miss you!!! Love Terre

I’m thrilled to share my Spellbinders™ Surprise Party!! project with you...

I have the pleasure of revealing S4-260 New Arrival. I have created my own version of an antique baby quilt, I cut and embossed the S4-260 New Arrival die templates as well as the S4-185 Large Octagons and S4-187 Large Scalloped Octagons to make my quilt wall hanging. I used My Minds Eye paper, crinkled the paper up into a ball and carefully uncrinkled it tried to flatten it out as much as possible. I took my Clearsnap Colorbox Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink and swiped it over the crinkles to give it that antique distressed look.

I then took my Wizard™ and cut out all of my Large Octagons and Large Scalloped Octagons die cuts.

I crinkled up and distressed each of the Octagons to also give them the distressed antique look and placed them on my paper quilt top.

I then placed my New Arrival die cuts on the quilt top to see how to arrange them to give me the look I wanted to achieve with my quilt top.

I took an old book and ripped out a few pages, cut/embossed my S4-260 New Arrival die templates and placed them on my quilt top.

Just look at the details on the embossed and stenciled die templates.....you too can create these beautifully detailed looks with these great die templates.
